Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Lyrical

Christina has been dancing for over 20 years and is in her 10th year teaching at Dance Connection. Her training consists of Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. Christina has both danced and choreographed for Dance Connection’s performances in Walt Disney World, for the Make –A-Wish Foundation, aboard Carnival Cruise Ships and for the Long Island Ducks Pre-Game Show. As a member of our 2006-2007 Competition Team, Christina earned the “Most Inspirational Award” at Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance Challenge National Competition. After competing with our team, Christina began choreographing and went on to bring our team many placements, top scoring awards and special judge’s awards.

Christina has studied Ballet at the Joffrey Ballet School’s Summer Ballet Intensive, Broadway Dance Center & the Lumiere Ballet on Long Island. At age 14, after auditioning & being accepted to the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive, Christina was asked to preform alongside professional ballerinas from all over the world in their annual Summer Showcase. At age 24, wanting to continue her ballet education, Christina re-auditioned for the summer intensive and was asked to be become a member of their Ballet Trainee Program. In 2006, Christina had the pleasure of being one of the first competitors in Long Island’s First Ballet Competition where she adapted the role of the Lilac Fairy from Sleeping Beauty. She has also preformed many local versions of The Nutcracker. Her roles include Mouse, Snow Princess, Chinese Tea and Russian Candy Cane.

By attending the Dance Teacher Summit and keeping up to date in the world of ballet, Christina continues to educate herself on a regular basis. One of her favorite things to share with her students is World Ballet Day, a day long, live streaming feed of ballet companies across the world! Her passion to create and devotion to inspire both young and seasoned dancers propels each class Christina teaches.
