In Step With DC
Did you know Dance Connection runs an official chapter of the NHSDA?

Here at Dance Connection we believe that the arts are an essential part of any education. A commitment to and a love for the art of dance should be celebrated, and that’s why we were honored to become an official chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts.

The National Honor Society for Dance Arts™ (NHSDA) is a program of the National Dance Education Organization, which was created to recognize achievements in dance study. There are three levels of induction: The Junior Program for grades 6-8, The Secondary Program for grades 9-12, and The Collegiate Program for students in college or university dance programs. Dancers earn points for different aspects of their dance training and performance, and when they have earned enough are able to apply for induction into their local chapter. Only dancers who are students at the designated chapter’s studio may apply, and we are so excited to be able to offer this wonderful benefit to our DC Family!

Once inducted, members receive certificates for each level of membership, and will be presented with a pin and (if they earn an honors designation) the honor cord to wear upon high school or collegiate graduation. They will also have the opportunity to become active in promoting the art of dance in their community and supporting their chapter as well.

We know our students have so many opportunities to have their talent and dedication recognized, and we are thrilled to offer a way to celebrate our shared love of dance! If you are interested, or know of a student who may be interested in applying to become a part of the Dance Connection’s NHSDA chapter, contact Mr. Joe at joe@lidanceconnection.com, or feel free to stop by the studio and we’ll be happy to help get you started on your way!
