Samantha has been part of Dance Connection’s family for 20 years. She has been in our Teaching Training Program since she was 9 and has excelled through the program to become a Dance Teacher. As a member of our competition team she achieved many high score awards for her solos, trios, group, and production numbers. Samantha was also crowned National Title Winner for Turn It Up Dance Challenge in 2012. She has also had the privilege to perform in Walt Disney World, Las Vegas, Hershey Park, and aboard two Carnival Cruise Ships. Samantha has been asked to be on the Turn It Up Dance Challenge Dance Team, and Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance 2008 Dance Spectacular. After being a part of Dance Connection’s award winning competition team for 10 years, she now enjoys choreographing for all performances including our regional and national competitions. Samantha has recently won a choreography award for her contemporary piece “Until We Go Down”. Samantha looks forward to creating new dances, as she has a passion for inspiring and educating students of all ages. Samantha continues to educate herself by participating in “The Dance Teacher Summit” which provides opportunity to continue her own education in teaching and dancing.
Samantha has graduated with her Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University; she now holds a full time position within this field. One aspect that has drawn her to this field is the ability to provide support as well as impact the lives of others in a compassionate and positive way. By utilizing her social work knowledge and experience of working with children, Samantha looks forward to enhancing her teaching skills and creating an environment for children to learn and grow! Her favorite quote is “I facilitate thinking, I engage minds, I listen to questions, I encourage risk, I support struggle, I cultivate dreams, I learn, I TEACH”.
