Congratulations to Miss Emily!

Miss Emily Civitella has been a part of the Dance Connection family since before she was born. She has grown up in our studio and gone from a Preschooler all the way to a teacher and this past June she graduated from Deer Park High School. She will begin studying Dance at University of the Arts in Philadelphia this Fall.

Miss Emily graduated as a member of the National Honor Society of Dance Arts as well as the National Honor Society and Foreign Language Honor Society for her academic achievements. Emily also received the Distinguished Scholar and Athlete award. During her 16 years at our studio Miss Emily has been a member of the Recital Company and the Competition Team for 11 years, and has been a part of our teacher training program since age 9.

In competition Emily has won 12 Regional Titles, and 3 National Titles including Miss Teen Dancers Inc. and just last year she was crowned Dancer of the Year for Dancer’s Inc. Miss Emily has performed with our team at Disney World, as well as on Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. As a National Titlist, she has also been fortunate enough to perform in Dancers Inc.’s fundraising efforts at Dancers Responding to AIDS Stars of Tomorrow benefit and the Dizzy Feet Foundation’s benefit in Los Angeles, CA.

More important than the multitude of accolades that she has received though is the impact she has made with the students in our studio. Miss Emily has led by example with her amazing work ethic, her positive attitude, and the way she treats everyone around her with respect and care. Our younger students have been incredibly fortunate to have such an wonderful role model both inside and outside of the studio to look up to. She is an incredibly kind, thoughtful person and we are sure that UArts will be so thrilled to have her in their program. Miss Emily we wish you the best as you begin college, and we thank you for being an incredibly important part of the Dance Connection family!
