We’d like to congratulate Miss Emily on her promotion to Substitute Teacher in the Teacher Training Program!

The Teacher Training Program is a forum for students to gain training in teaching as well as job responsibility. Enrollment in our Teacher Training Program will provide members with the highest standard of mentoring and guidance. Dance Connection is strongly committed to enriching and nourishing the future teachers and citizens of our community. Regardless of your future career path, Dance Connection feels confident that all members of the Teacher Training Program will leave our program having learned the important life skills of: respect, responsibility, accountability, discipline, confidence, and professionalism.

Miss Emily has been a student at DC since before she was 2 years old! Now in the 11th grade, Emily is not only an incredibly accomplished dancer, but also an honor student. Emily has won both Regional an National Titles for her solo performances, and has choreographed award winning dances as well.

Miss Emily has been competing for 10 years with the Dance Connection Competition Team, and continues to study Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, an Contemporary styles of Dance. I was able to ask her about how she felt finding out about being promoted to Substitute Teacher.

“I was really surprised and happy! I’ve been in the Teacher Training Program for 8 years an I’m now one step closer to my goal of becoming a full-time dance teacher.” – Emily Civitella

Miss Emily’s promotion was happy news to deliver as well according to Miss Mary.

“It was an easy decision for Miss Emily to be promoted. Emily excels in every aspect of her work in the Teacher Training Program, and has become a wonderful teacher. Being a Substitute Teacher will give her an opportunity to share her knowledge of and passion for dance an inspire the next generation of Dance Connection dancers.” – Mary Naftal, President & Artistic Director

We are sure that Miss Emily will be a fantastic Substitute Teacher and we are so proud of her!
