Joe Naftal has been an integral part of Dance Connection throughout his life, transitioning from a student (and recital announcer) to his current role as Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Joe focuses on business development, marketing and sales, customer experience, and positioning the company for growth. His efforts are directed towards ensuring the studio’s continuous expansion and enhancing the overall experience for both students and parents.

Beyond Dance Connection, Joe has a distinguished career as a lighting designer, contributing to theatre, dance, opera, and themed entertainment productions. He is also the author of a book on Recital Production, which is published internationally.

In addition to his work at Dance Connection, Joe is the creator of Check In Pointe and serves as the CEO of the Penny Prima® global dance brand. He has shared his expertise at countless conferences and seminars for dance studio owners worldwide. His insights have been featured in Dance Teacher Magazine. Joe is actively involved in the arts community, serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for CM Performing Arts Center and a board member at Robin Becker Dance. He has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University, Five Towns College, and Nassau Community College.

Joe holds a BFA from UNC School of the Arts and is a proud member of United Scenic Artists and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. As a serial entrepreneur and a staunch advocate for business in the arts, Joe continues to contribute significantly to the growth and success of Dance Connection and the broader dance community.
