Exciting News – Making Wishes Grow!

Dear friends of Dance Connection,

It is my pleasure to announce we’ll be producing Making Wishes Grow again this winter!

The background…

Dance Connection began the Making Wishes Grow performance initiative in 2015.  It’s mission is to produce a professional scale performance concert featuring performing artists from across Long Island and New York City – from amateur dance companies and musicians to professional signers and comedians – all coming together to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In it’s short history, the project has raised over $12,000 for Make-A-Wish and has sent Grace, a 17-year old cancer survivor from Lindenhurst, on her wish to see the Harry Potter play in London and Farah, a 15-year old from Amityville battling a brain tumor, on her wish to visit Disney World.  The show has continued to grow and expand, adding in more performing groups and artists.

The performance…

This year’s performance will be Sunday, January 20th at 3:00PM at Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville.  It will feature performances by the Dance Connection Competition Team as well as additional dance and music performances by other Long Island and New York City-based artists.   100% of the net proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County.

Where we’re at now…

  • We truly hope you and your family will consider joining us for the performance on January 20th.  It is shaping up to be a very entertaining performance, and of course supports a great cause. Tickets will go on sale Monday, December 10th.
  • We would also appreciate it if you could help get the word out and let your friends and neighbors know about the show.
  • With the production of any full-scale show, there are inherent costs involved.  We are offering several sponsorship opportunities for businesses in the area that would like to support our dancers in producing this show.  If you or someone you know owns a business and would be interested in sponsoring a portion of the performance, please let me know.  The more production expenses we can cover through sponsorship, will mean a bigger donation from ticket sale proceeds can be for Make-A-Wish.  As a business ourselves, we understand the seemingly constant flow of request for donations and sponsorships, so we’ve positioned our sponsorship opportunities to benefit the sponsoring business as well through exposure.

We are all very excited to make this show a reality and hope you will join us in January.  Thank you in advance for your support!
Warm regards,

Joe Naftal
