In Step With DC
Getting That Happy Holiday Feeling
Written by Erin Sforza on November 28, 2017

I look forward to the holiday season every year. As soon as Santa crosses that line on the Macy’s Parade route, the Christmas music and movies can start up, decorations get brought out and put up, and there’s a happy buzz of excitement that runs through our house in anticipation of all of the fun to come.

Being at the studio is definitely an extension of that experience since our staff love this time of year as well. The studio literally twinkles and shines from every corner, we break out our crazy holiday apparel (hats, earrings, necklaces that blink and jingle, and what must be the world record for holiday themed shirts!) and wait as patiently as we can for Holiday Party Week.

This is the time of year when we our Competition Team is marching in the Town Parade, performing for Make-A-Wish of Suffolk County’s Believe Day and Holiday Party, “DC” our studio Elf is making mischief, and we are hard at work collecting items for our Giving Tree families.

Every Holiday Party week I like to take a minute while I’m at the desk and really absorb the happy faces of our DC families, the sounds of jingle bells, the twinkle of the lights and the wonderful mood everyone is in. It reminds me of all that we have to be thankful for at our studio, the parents, students, teachers, and staff who somehow make every year better than the last. If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, below there are some reminders of events that will definitely bring the holiday cheer!

  • Saturday, Dec. 2nd – Islip Town Holiday Parade
  • Wednesday, Dec. 13th – Tuesday, Dec. 19th – Holiday Party Week
  • Tuesday, Dec. 19th – Giving Tree Deadline – Make sure to bring your gifts in by today!

Here’s to a happy (and less than hectic) holiday season for all of our DC families!
