In Step With DC
Getting to Know You: Miss Christina!
Written by Joe Naftal on February 9, 2018

Today we are featuring Miss Christina in our latest edition of “Getting to Know You”!  The “Getting to Know You” series helps us get to know each of the Dance Connection teachers and staff we get to see at the studio every week and learn a little bit more about them.

In her free time, Miss Christina likes to cook and bake.

Miss Christina does not have a pet, but she would love a Corgi.

The most challenging step Miss Christina ever learned were fouetté turns.

Her favorite song that she’s ever danced to was her pointe solo, “The Prayer” by Celine Dion, that she danced for her mom.  Her favorite song that she choreographed was “99 Red Balloons”.

Miss Christina choses to work at Dance Connection because the philosophy in which the studio was built on is everything she believes in.  She said, “I have danced at many studios on the island and in the city and have never seen or felt the dedication this studio provides to its students and parents alike. There is nowhere I would rather share my passion than at DC and with our kids!”

Miss Christina’s Favorites:

Movies: Steel Magnolias
Dance related book:  Apollo’s Angels
Inspirational Quote: “Life is not a dress rehearsal” – a quote her mother told her frequently while growing up
Comfort Food: Tomato soup & grilled cheese
Favorite Time of Year at Dance Connection: Picking Recital Music

The best advice that Miss Christina has for our DC students is to “always remember- We are all humans! It’s important that if a dancer or parent has a question, they should always ask it. Sometimes parents may not always like the answer we give but I am a firm believer in being real and being honest with each other about everything!”

Additional fun fact:  Miss Christina’s Dad is Mr. Jorge, the scenic designer for our recital each year.  Mr. Jorge designs and paints all of the wonderful scenery for each year’s production!
