Today we are featuring Miss Donna in our latest edition of “Getting to Know You”!  The “Getting to Know You” series helps us get to know each of the Dance Connection teachers and staff we get to see at the studio every week and learn a little bit more about them.

Why do you love teaching at Dance Connection? I love teaching at DC because I love the core philosophy of what the studio stands for. I love the family atmosphere and all the new and old friends I’ve made over the years and the DC staff is my second family. 

What’s the best way for dancers to approach your class? The best way for a dancer to approach my class would be with an open mind to try new things and be ok with stepping out of their comfort zone. They should be willing to work hard, and have fun!

What’s the best way for parents to support their dancers? I love parents to support their dancer/s by just letting them vent when they need to…maybe after a tough dance class or rehearsal, or a tiff with a dance friend. It doesn’t always mean they hate dance or want to quit, LOL…..they just to get out their feelings.

What do you do in your spare time? In my spare time I love spending hanging out with my best friend….my husband Tommy and daughter, Brooke-Ashley. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to dinner, and binge watching some shows. We love escape rooms (even though we don’t go often) and playing games on jackbox tv. I love spending time taking my dog, Miya for long walks or to a play date when I can. However, in the summer, I could just live at the beach! Enough said. 

What’s your go-to coffee order? STARBUCKS! In summer: grande iced caramel macchiatoIn winter: grande hot caramel macchiato Holiday season: pumpkin spice latte, gingerbread latte, peppermint mocha, of course!

What’s your favorite vacation spot? I can’t say that I have 1 favorite vacation spot, but so far my favorite tropical island vacation is Barbados.We are cruise lovers in this household, so that’s our go to vacation.My husband, daughter and I love this particular canoeing/camping trip that’s pretty hard core! 

What’s your favorite local restaurant? Currently, my favorite local restaurant is The Dirty Taco and Tequila Bar in Wantagh….O.M.G! But, we are a family that hands down loves Vincent’s Clam Bar in Carle Place. I’m not local to DC, we live in N. Massapequa.
