In Step With DC
Getting to Know You: Miss Erin!
Written by Joe Naftal on October 6, 2020

Today we are featuring Miss Erin in our latest edition of “Getting to Know You”!  The “Getting to Know You” series helps us get to know each of the Dance Connection teachers and staff we get to see at the studio every week and learn a little bit more about them.

Why do you love working at Dance Connection? Our studio is such a positive, fun place to be. Whether it’s the excitement and happiness on our students’ faces, the smiles and laughter of the parents outside the windows, or how our DC family comes together during to help our community or during times like these when we need each other more than ever.

What is an accomplishment you’re most proud of? I became an Election Inspector this year so that some of our poll workers who were in groups that were high risk did not have to. I’m really excited to be helping out for election day!

Who is your hero and why? My grandfather is one of my heroes. He had a hernia repaired so that he could fight in WW2. He was part of the glider infantry and went from Italy into Germany. He was wounded and received the purple heart. His dedication to his country has always been an inspiration to me.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Definitely chicken fingers w/dipping sauces and chocolate milkshakes! That’s my comfort food!

What do you do in your spare time? I like to cook, bake with my girls, and take care of the garden that we planted over the summer. I also listen to a lot of podcasts.

What’s your favorite vacation spot? I love taking my family to Walt Disney World. There is just nothing like the most magical place on Earth! Closer to home we love taking family getaways to Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, especially around Halloween.
