Getting to Know You: Student Helpers! (Part 1)
Today we are featuring our Student Helpers in our latest edition of “Getting to Know You”! The student teachers are part of Dance Connection’s Teacher Training Program and student teach in our classes each week.
Dance Connection believes in providing a warm, safe, and professional atmosphere where each student is cared for within the Dance Connection family. We are proud to also offer a Teacher Training Program to our more serious students. It is a forum for students to gain training in teaching as well as job responsibility. Enrollment in our Teacher Training Program will provide members with the highest standard of mentoring and guidance. Dance Connection is strongly committed to enriching and nourishing the future teachers and citizens of our community. Regardless of your future career path, Dance Connection feels confident that all members of the Teacher Training Program will leave our program having learned the important life skills of: respect, responsibility, accountability, discipline, confidence, and professionalism.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? Spanish Dancing
- What is your favorite holiday? Christmas
- How old were you when you started dancing? Three
- What is your favorite moment from DC? When I broke my elbow a few years ago I was still able to do the recital with my cast and enjoy the recital with my friends.
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I’ve always liked the idea of teaching and especially To pass along my love of dance.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? Riding my bike with my friends.
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love all the decorations.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I started to dance when I was 1 1/2 years old.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? My favorite moment was when we were doing warm-up to Watermelon Sugar and Miss Mary came in dancing and jamming out. Then she said to us we could make a better song than that!
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I joined because I love to dance and I love kids. I wanted to help teach kids the best thing in life, which is dancing.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? I love creating all different types of art!
- What is your favorite holiday? Easter
- How old were you when you started dancing? I was one and a half.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? When I started the teacher training program.
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I love to dance and have always looked up to my dance teachers.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? My favorite activity outside of dance is staying after school with my friends and going to different clubs. Some clubs we like to go to are, Drama Club, and Environmental Club
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Halloween, because l like to dress up in crazy costumes.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I started dancing when I was 2 years old. I’ve been at Dance Connection the entire time, making this my 12th year here.
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I wanted to join the TTP because I’ve been a dancer here for so long. I feel like the teachers and TTP have done so much for me when I was little, and it’s time for me to make other kids love dance the way that I do.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? I love to sing and act. I just auditioned for the show Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Jr.
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is St. Patrick’s Day because it is my birthday!
- How old were you when you started dancing? I was a dance school dropout at 2, but I started again at 3 and have loved it ever since!
- What is your favorite moment from DC? My favorite DC moment was performing “Blame it on the Boogie.” It started raining when we were on stage, but we didn’t let it stop us and we put on a great show!
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I have always looked up to my dance teachers. I always dreamed of being a dance teacher and helping to inspire little kids to love dance too!

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? I love to go longboarding with my friend, Gracie, & my sister, Juliet.
- What is your favorite holiday? Christmas, definitely Christmas.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I’ve been dancing since I was 2 years old.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? When I made it to Company. I was so happy 🙂
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I joined because I wanted to help kids learn to dance because dance has always been a part of me and I want kids to have the same experiences.
