Getting to Know You: Student Helpers! (Part 2)
Today we are featuring our Student Helpers in our latest edition of “Getting to Know You”! The student helpers are part of Dance Connection’s Teacher Training Program and student teach/help in our classes each week.
Dance Connection believes in providing a warm, safe, and professional atmosphere where each student is cared for within the Dance Connection family. We are proud to also offer a Teacher Training Program to our more serious students. It is a forum for students to gain training in teaching as well as job responsibility. Enrollment in our Teacher Training Program will provide members with the highest standard of mentoring and guidance. Dance Connection is strongly committed to enriching and nourishing the future teachers and citizens of our community. Regardless of your future career path, Dance Connection feels confident that all members of the Teacher Training Program will leave our program having learned the important life skills of: respect, responsibility, accountability, discipline, confidence, and professionalism.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? My favorite activity outside of dance is playing basketball and riding my bike.
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I was 2 years old when I started dancing.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? My favorite moment from DC was the Recital Company- Lion King. It was my first big production and I had so much fun!
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I wanted to join the teacher training program because I enjoy teaching others.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? My favorite activity outside of dance is dancing, shopping and riding my bike.
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I was 2 years old when I started dancing.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? My favorite moment from DC was making friends and dancing with me. Also being able to be myself and everyone accepting me being me.
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I wanted to join the teacher training program because I like the little kids and teaching them how exciting dancing is. I like them looking up to me because one day they may be teachers also.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? My favorite activity outside of dance is drawing and completing art projects.
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I was 2 years old when I started dancing. My teacher was Miss Jenn.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? My favorite moment from Dance Connection was being selected for the competition team. I’ll never forget driving to my first competition and competing for the first time.
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I wanted to join the Teacher’s Training Program because I want to be a dance teacher in the future. I also enjoy working with younger children.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? My favorite activity outside of dance is going on walks with my dogs.
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love Christmas time and going to the city to see the Rockettes!
- How old were you when you started dancing? I was 1 1/2 when I started dancing, and Miss. Donna was my first dance teacher.
- What was your favorite moment from DC? My favorite moment from DC is when it was Christmas week, and Miss. Mary was teaching her tap class and listening to Don’t Stop Believin by Journey. I was leaving and they told us to come in, and we had a little concert. It was a lot of fun!!
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I wanted to join the teacher training program because I love dance, and I remember my teachers were always there for me, and I wanted to do the same for them.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? My favorite activity outside of dance is to hang out with my friends, to draw and paint things like forests, lakes etc.
- What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas because I really like all the happy songs, Light Shows and yummy food.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I was 4 years old when I started dancing.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? My favorite moment from DC is the recital. I like to see the other kids in all their beautiful costumes and just hanging out and help backstage.
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I wanted to join the teacher training program because I have trouble speaking up and making friends. Talking to the kids, and listening to their funny conversations just makes me much more comfortable and calm.

- What is your favorite activity outside of dance? Playing with my cats.
- What is your favorite holiday? Halloween.
- How old were you when you started dancing? I started dancing when I was three.
- What is your favorite moment from DC? Performing Lion King my 3rd year in Recital Company.
- Why did you want to join the Teacher’s Training Program at DC? I like helping the kids and teaching them how to dance.
