In December 2024, Dance Connection will produce its seventh annual Holiday Show, Step into Christmas: A Musical Holiday Spectacular, by the Boston-based playwright, Colleen M. Hughes.

Auditions
Auditions are open to everyone (no company experience required!) and will be held at the studio Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27. Please see the breakdown below for specific times.
Casting in these dances will be based on performance at the audition. The choreographers must see that you “have it” at the audition in order to place you in the piece. The choreographers may also have artistic parameters for certain pieces. For example, one choreographer may be looking for dancers of a certain height, while another may be looking for an even number of dancers vs. an odd number. Please note that the casting decisions of the choreographers are final.
Audition Preparation
Once dancers sign up to audition, they will receive a link to videos of the dances from last year to practice along before the audition. They are encouraged to sign up to audition as soon as possible so they can receive the practice videos.
Dancers can also schedule a private lesson to go over audition choreography and/or audition skills.
Financial Commitment
Rehearsal fees will be charged according to the table below. In addition to this fee, the dancer will also need to rent or purchase a costume (depending on the piece) and any shoes, tights, hair, makeup, or accessories needed. Tickets for the show will be on sale soon!
Performance Company Tuition will be based on the number of dances for each dancer. There are no multi-student discounts for performance company.
Holiday Show will be billed September through November (3 months).
Rehearsals
Each dance will have its own rehearsal time (usually 30 minutes per week, however some weeks will not have rehearsals while other weeks may have slightly longer rehearsals). In addition, there will be full company rehearsals to put the entire show together. A complete rehearsal schedule will be available following casting, however rehearsals will be held on Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays – not all dances will rehearse all group days.
