In Step With DC
Our 3 Favorite Studio Holiday Traditions
Written by Erin Sforza on December 14, 2018

Every holiday season, we gather with family and friends to celebrate and be thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives and to be grateful for getting to share another year with them. Each family has their own holiday traditions; pictures for the holiday cards, favorite foods, maybe you even have a “Friendsgiving” celebration to look forward to every year.

Here at the studio, we have our own holiday traditions that we use to help celebrate with our Dance Connection family. Here are a few of our favorites:

Wrapping the Gifts for the Giving Tree Families – Every year we take over one of the classrooms and fill it with bright colored paper, holiday gift boxes, and gifts for local families that have been generously donated by our amazing students, their families, and our staff. Volunteers come armed with scissors and tape (there never seem to be enough to go around!) and spend a few hours wrapping, boxing, and grouping together what we hope will be a very merry Christmas morning for the families we are helping. It is a great way to remind us of all we have to be thankful for, and to give of our time and energy to make a difference for a very deserving local family. There is no better feeling than seeing the groups of gifts wrapped and ready and all of the smiling faces that helped to make it happen!

DC, the Dance Connection Holiday Elf – She’s a studio celebrity, and so much fun to find each day during the lead up to Christmas. DC is so well loved in fact, that she has even appeared on the Dance Connection Holiday card! Whether she is grabbing a quick cup of coffee, or “hanging around” with Santa, DC is guaranteed to make you smile. Make sure to look for her when you come in to class during the holidays!

DC Keeping Warm in the Studio

Holiday Party Week – We are definitely party people here at Dance Connection, and we love to celebrate! With the studio being decorated and looking so festive, twinkling lights around the lobby and in the windows, and the games and treats going on in the classrooms it is impossible not to get that warm and happy holiday feeling. It’s so much fun to see what everyone gets out of their grab bags and the looks on the faces of our little ones when their special holiday visitor makes his appearance are priceless. It’s a fantastic way to get into the holiday spirit just before our end of the year break!
