Joe Naftal

Joe Naftal has been an integral part of Dance Connection throughout his life, transitioning from a student (and recital announcer) to his current role as Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Joe focuses on business development, marketing and sales, customer experience, and strategic growth. His efforts are directed towards ensuring the studio’s continuous expansion and enhancing the overall experience for both students and parents.

A serial entrepreneur and sought-after industry expert, Joe is the founder of ShowSculptor, an all-in-one performance management platform, and CEO of Penny Prima®, a children’s dance brand that brings imagination and creativity into studios worldwide. He is the author of Standby in the Wings: A Behind-the-Scenes Guide to Producing the Perfect Dance Recital, and he regularly shares his expertise at leading conferences, webinars, and training programs for studio owners and educators across the globe. His insights have been featured in Dance Teacher Magazine and other industry publications.

Joe is lighting designer with credits spanning theatre, dance, opera, and themed entertainment. He has taught as an adjunct professor at Adelphi University, Five Towns College, and Nassau Community College, and remains deeply engaged in the arts community. Joe serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for CM Performing Arts Center and is a board member at Robin Becker Dance.

He holds a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and is a proud member of United Scenic Artists and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. Known for his vision, creativity, and commitment to excellence, Joe continues to champion innovation in the performing arts and help shape the future of the dance studio industry.
