Open to all students (ages 8 & up) and alumni!

Walking on Sunshine is a precision tap piece choreographed by Mary Naftal and first performed in June 2000.  It has since been performed at events and competitions across the United States.  It has won countless top-level adjudications and overall high-score awards.

Who can audition?  Any student or alumni over the age of 8.

When is the audition?  Sunday, March 31st  11:45am-2:15pm

When will rehearsals be held?  Saturday, April 13th 8-9am, Sunday, May 19th 1:30-2:30pm, Sunday, June 2nd 7-8pm, Sunday, June 9th 8:30-9:30amand a dress rehearsal held sometime June 10 thru June 14 between 6 and 10pm at Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville, NY.  Performances will be Saturday, June 15 at 1pm and 7pm and Sunday, June 16 at 3pm – all at Holy Trinity.

What costs are associated with participating?  The only cost will be the costume, which will be between $100 and $125.  The costume fee will be due within a week of being accepted into the company.

What are the audition requirements?  You must learn the  “V” section and the ending.  You may learn the choreography from the video (a video will be sent to you upon signing up to audition) or from tutorings/private lessons.  This is a precision piece.  The audition requires an intimate familiarity with the choreography. We are looking for the execution of the choreography to be at a mastery level.  Pay particular attention to accents, levels, and other choreographic details.

Please Note:  This company will be run with the highest professional expectations.  All absences, with the exception of legitimate illness, must be disclosed and approved at time of audition.  No tardiness or unexcused absences will be tolerated.
