We are so pleased to welcome the members of our Performance Company back into the studio! They met for their first rehearsal on September 4th, and brought both the returning and brand-new company members together to begin getting ready for another terrific year.

As always, our amazing Performance Company will prepare for 3 Regional and 1 National Competition this year, taking a wide variety of dances to be be adjudicated. They will also be using their talent and passion for dance to improve our community through their performances. This year they will perform “Step Into Christmas” for the second year, raising money for Gavin’s Got Heart, a local charity that supports the families of children with congenital heart defects. Last year they were able to raise $5,000 with their premiere performance!

The Performance Company will also continue their years-long partnership with Make-A-Wish of Suffolk County performing at their annual Holiday Party and Gala, as well as working to put together Dance Connection’s annual Making Wishes Grow Production, from which all profits go toward granting the wish of a local child. Last year everyone involved helped to send a 7-year-old boy to Walt Disney World and we’re all excited to see what is accomplished this year.

The Performance Company will also be performing in the Stars of Tomorrow benefit for Dancers Responding to AIDS on the SUNY Purchase campus. This performance helps to raise money for critical services needed by members of the dance community living with HIV and AIDS.

The Company will also perform in the Islip Christmas Parade and you may also see them again at the Islip Street Fair just before the kickoff to Summer!

They are a wonderfully talented, busy group of young dancers who are working all of the time to use their gifts to brighten their community. We are so looking forward to all of the accomplishments to come this year, and we are definitely looking ahead to next year, when the Performance Company will be heading down to Walt Disney World to perform for the resort guests and to take a special workshop with a Disney Company Performer!
