In Step With DC
We’re Dreaming of Warmer Weather
Written by Erin Sforza on April 27, 2018

Let’s be honest, this winter has been long and cold! Here at the studio we are so looking forward to lovely Spring days and warm summer breezes. This spring and summer we have a lot to look forward to. Recital prep is well under way and we have started Pre-Registration for next year’s classes. Auditions for our Duck’s performance on June 30th are scheduled for May 6th and we are so excited for another fun night with the DC families at the ballpark! our Competition Team just finished up their 2017 – 2018 season and will be looking forward to performing on board Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas July 6th sailing, and having some of the team compete at Nationals right after they return.

Most of all though, we are really excited to welcome back summer with a fantastic set of camps and classes that will help bust the summer boredom and keep our students in top dance shape for our 30th year here at Dance Connection. Here are a couple of my personal favorites:

Descendants Dance Camp – Campers will be learning fun dances to the songs from the Descendants soundtrack and making crafts to use in a mini-performance for their families at the end of the week! The camp is for ages 6 – 10 and is a brand new experience here at DC.

Trolls Camp – For kids that may be a little younger, but would love to perform to songs from one of their favorite movies we have Trolls Camp. This camp is for ages 5 – 8 who are looking to help us spread some happiness and joy while rocking some fabulous troll hair! This camp also culminates with a performance for family and friends at the end of the week.

We also have our incredibly fun Monday night “Adventures In Dance Camps” Series returning this year beginning July 23rd. Each night there is a different theme including the brand new Princess Academy adventure! You can choose one camp or bundle a few together, and it’s a fantastic way for kids to have a great experience while Mom & Dad have a nice summer date night!

There are also returning favorites like Royal Fairytale Camp, Disney Friends Dance Camp, Star Wars Jedi Training Camp and Superhero Camp. The best part about having all of these great choices is that we have a ton of ways to package a few together for the best possible value. You can package camps for the same student or even between siblings in your family!

Finally, we always have summer classes to suit every age group and dance discipline. One of my favorite ways to keep your dancer moving’ over the summer is the Elite Dancer Ultimate Summer Package which is really great for dancers that are at Beginner level and above. You get access to 5 different classes for 4 weeks for $200 if you register by May 31st, and $250 if you register after that. It’s the perfect set of classes to help you dancer stay “in step” over break, and a fantastic option if they are considering joining the Dance Connection Competition Team beginning their new year in August (keep an eye out for that invite!).

I cannot wait for sunshine, sand, salty beach breezes and a studio full of happy campers! Are you ready for summer at Dance Connection?
