What’s Happening at DC: It’s Recital Time!
Written by Erin Sforza on May 11, 2018

It’s official! Recital is fully under way! Today marks 35 days until our first Recital performances hit the stage and we are as busy as ever getting things ready around here.

Ticket sales opened this past Monday and are still available if you click here. If you need any assistance you can speak to anyone at the reception desk, call or email us and we will be happy to help you locate your dancer’s spot on stage and find tickets that will give you a great view of your dancer.

We are stringing stars and adding lollipops as quickly as we can so that you can send your little stars a fun message about how proud you are of them. We are also putting together the recital gift bags that your sweet messages will arrive in.

Scenery is being created, painted, and gathered together and will be ready and waiting to head over to the venue in a matter of weeks. Our teachers are also gathering any and all props needed to give each number a extra special touch.

Recital T-Shirts are in and can be purchased at the studio. You can also purchase recital flowers if you would like the convenience of having your dancer’s bouquet waiting for your arrival at the venue.

Costumes have begun going home, and we have garment bags in the studio in case you decide that you need one and had not previously ordered it.

The recital program is being put together and there are still a few days to take out an ad to let your dancer or their class know that you are their biggest fans.

There are stage line ups and hallway line ups and diagrams of the lobby and cafeteria being drawn up so we know how everything will be set up. The final bow information is being put together to be recorded, and we are prepping for photos and video for the performances.

The Dress Rehearsal Week schedule is being put together, and will be out to everyone soon!

Have you painted your dancer’s shoes yet? If not, you can stop by and pick up paint in the studio or drop the shoes off with the DCCT to be painted for you!

Last but definitely not least, all of our students and teachers (including our Dad’s Company!) are putting in a ton of hard work perfecting those recital performances so they shine when they get up on that stage!

It’s definitely busy here, but it’s the best kind of busy we have all year! Are you ready for recital? How are you preparing?
