Program At-A-Glance
This exciting introductory program is a fun-filled thirty to forty-five minute long class that engages the child in activities incorporating dance, drama, creative movement, and music. Young dancers will learn how to imitate movement and follow directions in a positive environment. Use of props enables the young dancers to use their imagination and creativity. This program helps transition students into a preschool environment and introduce them to the magic of performing arts, as well as meet friends that can last a lifetime!

Through fun activities, songs, and games, little dancers build important early skills like balance, motor coordination, listening, and following directions—all while having fun.

Terrific Twos is a joyful and age-appropriate introductory dance class for toddlers around age 2. Designed to support early childhood development, the class blends creative movement, music, and play to help toddlers build coordination, rhythm, and social confidence—all in a nurturing and supportive setting.
This class is perfect for children approximately 20 months to 2 years old who are ready for a fun, structured activity to help them explore movement and interact with others.
Terrific Twos is a drop-off class, but we know that toddlers may need a little extra encouragement. Our instructors are experienced in helping first-time dancers feel safe and supported as they gradually grow more independent.
There’s no strict dress code, but we suggest comfortable clothing that allows movement. A leotard, tights, and ballet slippers are great options if you have them. Otherwise, comfortable clothing with sneakers are perfectly fine. The goal is to feel comfortable and ready to move!
Expect lots of smiles, a few jitters (that’s normal!), and plenty of support. Our team is here to make your child’s first dance class a positive experience. It may take a few weeks for toddlers to fully warm up to class—patience and consistency are key.
Terrific Twos focuses on basic motor skills, listening, following directions, spatial awareness, and early musicality. The class also helps young dancers grow more confident in group settings and introduces foundational classroom habits.
The best thing you can do is offer gentle encouragement. Keep a consistent routine, arrive a few minutes early to ease transitions, and celebrate small wins. Remember, even watching quietly from the sidelines at first is progress!
Absolutely! We believe in transparency and connection. Parents are always welcome to observe class. Our Islip location features observation windows, our Bay Shore studio offers a live TV viewing screen, and we also provide secure access to our private live stream app—so you can watch from anywhere or share your child’s dance moments with family near and far.
Yes! Terrific Twos dancers have the exciting option to participate in our annual June recital. It’s a fun and confidence-building experience, but completely optional. Costumes are ordered in December, and recital tickets go on sale in May. Whether or not your child performs, they’ll still enjoy a full season of joyful movement and learning.
