Everyone had a blast at Paint Night
On Friday, March 8, a dozen volunteers attended our first Paint Night of this year. The volunteers worked on sanding and painting the suitcase props for “9 to 5”, painting the cruise ship for “Sea Cruise” and the pirate ship for “A Pirate’s Life”, putting together the umbrella for “Fabulous”, touching up the limo for “Welcome to Miami, repairing flowers for “Keep on Movin” and arranging bouquets for “Joy of Desire”. The volunteers helped with painting and crafts, while enjoying wine, lemonade, cheese, crackers, and spinach dip with chips. There was a fun and exciting buzz throughout the studio as recital season dawns on us.
All of the scenery and props built and painted at the Paint Night will be featured in Dance Connection’s 30th annual recital production, presented at Holy Trinity High School June 15th and 16th. The recital features our students of all ages and serves as a year-end celebration and showcase of dance styles!
Recital Season is my favorite time of year at Dance Connection and our Paint Nights are a quintessential example of the generosity, camaraderie, and excitement of putting together a piece of live theater. The entire staff at Dance Connection appreciates the hard work of our volunteer painters, builders, artists, craftspeople, and artisans – they make the show possible every year.
