Please come fully dressed in your first costume with make-up on and hair done. All costume changes should be checked into the appropriate changing areas. Look for signs directing you to the dressing room.

Check In/Pickup Procedures

All dancers will wait backstage for the duration of the performance.  Any dancers checked out early will be required to leave the building.  Dancers may not be intermediately signed in and out of backstage during the show.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE NEXT INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY TO ALLOW FOR A SMOOTH RECITAL FOR YOU, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR DANCER.

  • ONLY ONE PARENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO DROP OFF AND PICK UP THEIR DANCER.
  • FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL DANCERS, NO PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED INSIDE BACKSTAGE AREA – UNLESS APPROVED BY STUDIO MANAGEMENT (i.e. medical reasons, etc.)
  • UPON ARRIVING, YOU WILL DROP OFF YOUR CHILD AT THE STAGE DOOR WHERE PRODUCTION STAFF MEMBERS WILL GREET YOUR DANCER AND BRING THEM INSIDE THE BACKSTAGE WAITING AREA.  PLEASE KNOW THAT IF THERE IS ANY SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH YOUR DANCER, WE WILL IMMEDIATELY CONTACT YOU BY COMING INTO THE THEATER TO FIND YOU (OUR TICKETING SYSTEM WILL LOCATE YOU) OR MAKING AN ANNOUNCEMENT OVER OUR SOUND SYSTEM.
  • AFTER YOUR CHILD HAS ENTERED THE BACKSTAGE AREA, YOU WILL RECEIVE WRISTBAND.  ONLY THE PARENT WITH THE WRISTBAND WILL BE ALLOWED TO PICK UP THEIR CHILD.  WE WILL NOT ALLOW A PARENT WITHOUT A WRISTBAND TO PICK UP ANY CHILD.

After Your Child has Performed

Please remember the recital is NOT OVER after your child has performed.  There are still more dancers that worked just as hard and deserve that full audience feeling.  The running time for the show is under 90 minutes with no intermission.

Dancers cannot greet visitors during the show or leave backstage for any reason.  We ask that you do not attempt to arrive backstage early to see your dancer during the show.  It only causes unnecessary stress for the dancers and our security team.

If you sign your child out of the backstage area prior to the end of the recital, then you must leave the theatre.

Recital Etiquette

We realize that you and your family come to watch your special dancer.  However, there are many performers in our recital.  The entire recital runs approximately 85 minutes, with no intermission.  Please stay through to the end so that all dancers feel that wonderful full audience presence.  The students put on a great recital and we believe you won’t regret staying and enjoying the rest of the performance.  Don’t miss it!  IN ADDITION, EACH DANCER RETURNS TO THE STAGE AT THE END FOR A FINAL BOW.

Please understand that once the recital begins, we ask that you do not leave your seat for any reason.  We do this as a common courtesy to the dancers on stage as well as to all the audience members wanting to watch a recital with no distractions.

AT THE END OF THE RECITAL WE ASK THAT ONLY THE PARENT WITH THE WRISTBAND LEAVE THE THEATER FIRST.  PLEASE ALERT FAMILY MEMBERS TO STAY SEATED TO GIVE THESE PARENTS A CHANCE TO GET OUT AND CLOSE TO THE BACKSTAGE AREA.  WE WANT TO AVOID A PILE UP BY THE STAGE DOOR.

Concession Stand & Merchandise

Before and after the show we invite you to visit CM’s concession stand and Dance Connection’s Recital Boutique where you can purchase refreshments and recital gifts such as flowers, t-shirts, Dancewear, toys, raffle tickets, and more!

Performance Policies

Please remind the guests in your party to abide by the following important policies:

  • Any piece of photography or video recording equipment may not be taken out at any time once inside the theatre.  Failure to comply with this rule will result in confiscation of equipment or security requiring you to exit the building.
  • Please note, our production employs the use of theatrical effects such as strobe lighting and stage fog.
  • Please arrive on time, and allow ample time for parking, as the show begins promptly, and latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the management, at a time that will cause the least disruption possible.
  • Please park in marked stalls only and avoid parking in reserved spots for neighboring businesses.  Parking in a fire lane, in reserved spaces, or parking in a manner than blocks vehicular or pedestrian traffic is strictly prohibited.  Illegally parked vehicles are subject to tow by the venue, property owner, or neighboring businesses.
