THE RECITAL

Saturday, June 15 – 1:00PM
Saturday, June 15 – 7:00PM
Sunday, June 16 – 3:00PM

Fully Air Conditioned Cafeteria

Where All Students Stay During The Recital

Upon entering Holy Trinity you will find the cafeteria by making a left once inside the lobby, and following the signs.

The cafeteria is broken down into 3 sections.

Cafeteria Waiting Room

All students participating in the recital will be well taken care of in the cafeteria by the Dance Connection teaching, office and production staff, and volunteer parents. You may bring small games or books for your child to use while waiting. We will supply papers, crayons, coloring dittos, and playing cards, as well as several big screen televisions showing a live feed of the show. ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE CAFETERIA DURING THE PERFORMANCE TIME – PLEASE DO NOT SNEAK FOOD OR DRINK IN WITH YOUR CHILD, BECAUSE IT WILL BE TAKEN AND HELD ON THE SIDE UNTIL THE RECITAL IS OVER.

All dancers should be IN the cafeteria NO LATER THAN 12:30pm for the Saturday matinee performance, 6:30pm for the Saturday evening performance, and 2:30pm for the Sunday afternoon performance. Please come fully dressed in costume with make-up on and hair done. All costume changes should be checked into the appropriate changing rooms. Look for signs directing you to these rooms.

Intermission Rules – Remember the Recital is Not Over!

Please remember the recital is NOT OVER at intermission. There are still more dancers that worked just as hard as the 1st act dancers and deserve that full audience feeling. We ask that you do not use this time to try to get in to see your dancer in the cafeteria. It only causes unnecessary stress for the dancers and our security team, and creates an overcrowded hallway.

If you sign your child (other than preschool dancers) out of the cafeteria prior to the end of the recital, then you must purchase a ticket for them to get into the theater or security will require you to leave the building.
Recital Etiquette

We realize that you and your family come to watch your special dancer. However, there are many performers in our recital. The entire recital runs approximately 2 1/2 hours, with a 15 minute intermission. Please stay through to the end so that all dancers feel that wonderful full audience presence. The students put on a great recital and we believe you won’t regret staying and enjoying the rest of the performance. Don’t miss it! IN ADDITION, EACH DANCER RETURNS TO THE STAGE AT THE END FOR A FINAL BOW AND TO RECEIVE A RECITAL GIFT.

Please understand that once the recital begins, the back doors are kept closed at all times. Entry and exit will only be permitted during a blackout (in between dance numbers). We do this as a common courtesy to the dancers on stage as well as to all the audience members wanting to watch a recital with no distractions. PLEASE ALERT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS OF THIS RULE TO AVOID ANY UNPLEASANTNESS AT THE THEATER DOOR WITH OUR SECURITY STAFF. We truly appreciate your cooperation regarding this matter. Please understand that we are not trying to hold anyone captive. When all audience members follow these simple rules, the recital runs smoothly and is more enjoyable for everyone. Please alert everyone attending the recital with you to refrain from screaming out names during a performance. Every audience member is trying to enjoy the recital, just as you are. Please be considerate of this fact.

Also, in accordance with local fire regulations, we require that you keep the aisles clear at all times.

AT THE END OF THE RECITAL WE ASK THAT ONLY THE PARENT THAT HAS HIS/HER HAND STAMPED LEAVE THE THEATER FIRST. PLEASE ALERT FAMILY MEMBERS TO STAY SEATED TO GIVE THESE PARENTS A CHANCE TO GET OUT AND CLOSE TO THE CAFETERIA. WE WANT TO AVOID A PILE UP IN THE LOBBY.

Electronic Devices

Please TURN OFF all electronic devices for the duration of the performance, including cell phones, iPods, and video games. The sound and light these devices emit are very distracting. There are people performing on stage and people all around you trying to enjoy the performance. Please do not take away from their right to enjoy the performance by texting or using other devices.

Please remember to power off these devices again after intermission.

Performance Policies

  • Please remind the guests in your party to abide by the following important policies:
  • Any piece of photography or video recording equipment may not be taken out at any time once inside the theater. Failure to comply with this rule will result in confiscation of equipment or security requiring you to exit the building.
  • Please note, our production employs the use of theatrical effects such as strobe lighting and stage fog.
  • Please arrive on time, and allow ample time for parking, as the show begins promptly, and latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the management, at a time that will cause the least disruption possible.
  • Please park in marked stalls only. Parking in the fire lane in front of the theater or on the lawn is strictly forbidden and will result in your vehicle being towed by Holy Trinity.

Finale: All dancers return to the stage for a final bow!

PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL CLASS CHILDREN AND/OR PARENTS OF TICKETED DANCERS WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY TAKEN THEIR CHILD INTO THE THEATER MAY BRING THEM BACK TO THE CAFETERIA AT LEAST 3 DANCES BEFORE THE END OF THE RECITAL, SO THEY DON’T MISS THEIR FINALE.

Additional Parking

In addition to the parking available in Holy Trinity’s parking lot, there is also a municipal parking lot available just south of Holy Trinity behind Village Green Stores (The building including the deli, Carvel, Subway restaurant, etc.) You can also park on the side streets across the street from Holy Trinity.

Please note that you may only park in marked stalls. Holy Trinity explicitly prohibits parking in the fire line and on the grass.

Finally…

In order for us to continue to use Holy Trinity High School’s theater, we must leave it the way we found it. Please eat and drink outside the theater as not to stain the seats or carpeting. Please utilize the trash cans for all trash. Please clean up any spills. Damage and misuse only causes higher recital costs, which must be passed on through higher ticket prices. There are very few large theaters with air conditioning to use on Long Island, so we ask that you cooperate with this matter. To enable a smooth and enjoyable show for all, we ask for your cooperation, consideration, and patience in all of the above matters.

On behalf of the Dance Connection dancers, faculty, and staff, I thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Please know that we are all anxiously looking forward to producing “Cheers to 30 Years!” for you on June 15 and June 16. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at joe@lidanceconnection.com or (631) 224-7134 Ext. 602.
