Calob Congdon

Music Teacher

Music has been an integral part of Calob’s life since he was four years-old. Calob has been singing ofor 18 years and has enjoyed playing piano for 10 years. Originally from Berlin, Wisconsin, he has performed in a variety of honors choruses, community theater productions, and is a multi-time WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Gold Medalist. Currently, Calob studies Music Education at Hofstra University where he is a member of both the University Chorale as well as the Chamber Choir. Throughout his performance tenure, Calob has performed at some of the most prestigious venues across New England such as the Cathedral of Incarnation in Garden City, NY and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. As a practitioner of the Orff Schulwerk Approach to Music Education, Calob believes that students should learn music in an authentic yet age-appropriate setting that allows them to become lifelong musicians and creative problem-solvers. He
often combines the activities of singing and playing instruments with speech, movement, and drama to provide a well-rounded artistic experience for each of his classes. Calob is excited to bring his love for Music Education to Dance Connection and provide such an amazing opportunity for studio families to have fun making music.
