Are You Ready For Recital Company Auditions?
Written by Erin Sforza on January 7, 2020

It’s the start of the New Year and preparations for our recital are kicking into high gear. The next step for putting everything together is auditions for our Recital Company. If you aren’t familiar with this group, they perform the opening number for our recital every year and have done everything from Grease to last year’s huge Lion King production.

Members of Recital Company rehearse once a week (to start) either on Friday night, Saturday afternoon, or Sunday morning/afternoon. Dancers in the company are required to be currently taking both ballet and jazz (these classes can be added after being accepted into the company as well) and there is a $230 rehearsal fee as well as the cost of the costume. Company members may also be required to take tutorings to help with learning the dance. Being a part of this company is a ton of fun for the dancers and is a great way to see if your dancer (and you!) are ready to try our Performance Company next year!

This year’s audition will be held on Sunday, January 12th. It will be the only audition date so if you are interested in joining, you will have to be there on the 12th. This year, Recital Company will be split into two age groups, Petite/Junior Co. (ages 7-11), and Teen/Senior Co. (ages 11-adult). Dancers audition for the company that fits their age as of February 1st. The Senior and Teen Company auditions will be from 10:30am – 12:45am. Petite & Junior Company auditions will be from 1:00pm – 3:15pm. All dancers and parents, especially ones who may be new to Recital Company may want to attend the parent/dancer meeting at 12:45pm.

If you’re ready to join Recital Company and help us to make this year’s recital opening number shine, you can click on the button below to fill out the audition form, or stop by the reception desk at the studio to fill one out. Your form must be in by January 11th. We hope to see you there!
