The Best Part of Being in the Studio
Written by Erin Sforza on September 26, 2020

We’ve officially been back in the studio for three weeks now and there are so many reasons to celebrate! There is nothing like dancing together to start to feel a bit more normal again.

Everyday it feels great to open the doors, to set up the studio for the students who will be arriving soon, and to see our teachers and staff happily back to cleaning and prepping for the day. For our dancers, I know that it must be great to finally be back in the studio, to be in the space again. To take your place at the barre and to let everything else go while you go through your warm-up, and to have the space to really get across the floor.

It’s great to see our parents watching their little ones at the window, and to see them at drop off and pick up. We’ve missed getting to check in with all of you over these past months. It’s been fun to be invited into everyone’s home, but it’s so nice to have you back with us again.

By far though, the best part of having everyone in the studio, especially for our teachers is getting to see the smiling faces of our dancers! There is nothing like being with your teacher and receiving direct instruction. Each class winds up forming a bond. They share inside jokes and spend so much time working toward their common goal of their recital performance that each class develops a connection. Our students develop life skills like responsibility, understanding the importance of their contribution to a group, the work it takes to reach a goal, and our little ones learn how to make friends and socialize. The staff and teachers get to watch as their confidence develops and how they grow as a dancer and as a person. There is no substitute for that, and it is just the best part of finally being back in the studio.
