Why I Volunteer at Recital
Written by Erin Sforza on April 16, 2019

Our recital is a huge production that relies on so many people to make it look as good as possible and enjoyable for everyone who participates or attends. One of the biggest components of the recital is our wonderful volunteers who make sure that everyone finds their seat, every dancer is cared for, every costume is on perfectly, our raffles run smoothly, and our boutique and snack tables are always fully stocked and our guests’ needs are attended to. Below are some of our fantastic volunteers who shared why they love being a part of our recital team.

I love getting to see all of the kids arriving in their costumes. I’ve always enjoyed helping them and interacting with all of their very proud parents.

Maria Flyntz, Mom of Miss Ashley

My girls help with ushering because they enjoy seeing everyone as they come in and getting to welcome them. I like ushering as well because you get to interact with all of the guests and it’s actually a lot of fun to greet them and hear about everything they are looking forward to.

Jenny Diaz, Mom of Miss Jeanna

I volunteer in the changing area because I really love being able to help the kids get ready and see how excited they are as they head down the hallway to the stage. I started helping in the Pre-School area and I still really love getting to meet the new students who are experiencing the recital for the first time.

Frances Manziak, Mom of Miss Stephanie and Miss Jessica

I started volunteering in the cafeteria because I enjoyed knowing that my daughter was taken care of as far as being changed and ready, but also being able to feel like I had helped the other kids around me and seeing the anticipation before their performance, and their pride as they came back to the cafeteria. I think volunteering at recital gave me a new respect for the amount of effort and work that it takes from a ton of people to give our dancers the kind of recital they experience. You realize that without volunteers, this would not be possible because they staff is working so hard already.

Kristin Rivera, Mom of Kaylee

We are so grateful to have the help of these and all the parents who have been a very important part of making our recitals as welcoming and entertaining as they are. We hope you will consider volunteering for our 30th Anniversary Recital. Click here to be directed to the volunteer form, or stop by the reception desk in the studio to fill one out!
