Getting to Know You: Miss Brooke-Ashley!
Written by Joe Naftal on December 1, 2017

Today we are featuring Miss Brooke-Ashley in our latest edition of “Getting to Know You”!  The “Getting to Know You” series helps us get to know each of the Dance Connection teachers and staff we get to see at the studio every week and learn a little bit more about them.

In her free time, Miss Brooke-Ashley likes to kick back, relax, and catch up on her favorite shows.

Miss Brooke-Ashley’s family a terrier mix named Miya.

Her favorite song that she’s ever danced to was “Tore my Heart”.  The most challenging step she ever learned were wings! “I have always enjoyed tap, but those definitely stump me.”

Miss Brooke-Ashley said she choses to work at Dance Connection because  “this studio has been my second home since I was born.  It was time for me to give back to them after all they have given me and I could not be happier!”

Miss Brooke-Ashley’s Favorites:

Movies: Finding Nemo – “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming”
Dance related book: Ballerina Body by Misty Copeland
Inspirational Quote: “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain”
Comfort Food: Taco Bell – “You can’t go wrong with tacos”
Favorite Time of Year at Dance Connection: Recital Season – “I always love to watch all the hard work that everyone has put in throughout the year.”

The best advice that Miss Brooke-Ashley has for our DC students is to “use dance as your release.  Let loose, and dance like nobody is watching because dance can heal your soul.  It has helped me through so much in my life, and I hope that others can benefit from it too.”
