Can you hear that sound? The distant ringing of jingle bells? They can only mean one thing: our Holiday Performance Company is getting ready for the 4th annual performance of Step Into Christmas! Auditions for our holiday benefit show happened just a few weeks ago, and we had some amazing dancers try out for the company!

Auditions for Step Into Christmas are a bit different from auditions for our studio’s other companies. We have a very limited amount of time to get everyone ready and prepped for the most wonderful time of the year, so it is much closer to a traditional audition where our teachers are looking to see who can pick up the choreography quickly and as cleanly as possible. Dancers sign up for the numbers that they are interested in performing in that are in their age range and arrive on the day of the audition ready to work! The studio sends out videos of the dances to everyone who signs up to audition, this way they can practice prior to audition day, and of course tutoring and private lessons are available to get you in “holiday shape”. Dancers are notified by email about what dances they’ve made, and rehearsals always include some time for team building. 

It’s probably one of my favorite audition days in the studio because there is nothing better than hearing those wonderful holiday songs and looking forward to that warm, happy feeling that comes from this show and the difference it makes for local charities.
