Dancing Into Summer
Written by Erin Sforza on March 22, 2019

This is the time of year when the studio starts daydreaming about summer…classes! We are already putting together a fantastic summer schedule (thank you to everyone who helped us by participating in our Summer Survey!) to keep our serious dancers in shape for September and to keep our young friends happy and busy with some great camps and activities!

“Is it important to continue dancing during the summer?” This is a questions I am asked at the desk a lot, and I would have to say that everyone (and I mean everyone) needs to take some down time to recover from what is sure to have been a busy dance and school year. We all need to recharge from all of the work we put in during classes so that we can come back fresh and excited to be in the studio. However, just like there is “brain drain” over the summer school holiday if there is no practicing what was learned over the year, your muscles will lose a bit of their flexibility and you might even lose a bit of technique without getting back into the studio for a class or a workshop. During the summer we offer classes from Beginner to Advanced in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, as well as Contemporary and Dance Enrichment.

There are also some great workshops! This summer we’ll be having a Hip Hop workshop with Miss Arial on August 16th.

For all those kids (and parents) who are looking for some fun and entertaining camps for the summer we have a bunch to offer!

Soon it will start to get warmer, the end of school and recital will get closer, and it will be time to have some summer fun with us here at Dance Connection! Information and registration is available now. You are able to register online or at the reception desk in the studio. We hope to see you this summer!
