Getting to Know You: Miss Mary!
Written by Joe Naftal on September 11, 2017

Today we are featuring Miss Mary in our first edition of “Getting to Know You” for the 2017-2018 season!  The “Getting to Know You” series helps us get to know each of the Dance Connection teachers and staff we get to see at the studio every week and learn a little bit more about them.

In her free time, Miss Mary likes to take walks by the beach or at the at the park, play with her fur babies Jazzy & Cha Cha, and hang with her son, Joe.

She has two miniature pinches, Jazzy & Cha Cha.

She has trouble deciding her favorite song she has ever danced to, because she really loves any music she can perform to, but her favorite song that she’s ever choreographed was “Walking on Sunshine”.

The most challenging step she ever learned were Wings in tap class.

Miss Mary’s Favorites:

Movie: None in particular – any musical movie, comedy, or Hallmark movie
Dance-related Book:  Miss Mary enjoys books about injury prevention
Inspirational Quote: “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”, “Replace negative thoughts with positive ones and get positive results”, and “wake up each day with a grateful heart”
Comfort Food: Homemade mac & cheese and Starbucks
Favorite Time of Year at Dance Connection: “There are so many exciting times all year, but I LOVE recital week!”

Miss Mary loves smiley faces 🙂

The best advice that Miss Mary has for our DC students and parents is to “do what you love and love what you do” and “time flies, enjoy all the moments little and big!”
